Ike Turner, from his 2001 autobiography, Taking Back My Name, attempts to refute Tina's claims that she was a victim of domestic abuse at his hand, by saying "Sure, I've slapped Tina... There have been times when I punched her to the ground without thinking. But I never beat her."
